North of England Mountain and Moorland
Heather Turners- Dykes Diplomead took the first - First Ridden ticket this season with Jessie Duncalf but today, her sister Poppy partnered this 5 year to take top spot in the Open Small Breeds - qualifying for HOYS. This is the 4th pony Poppy has qualified for HOYS - quite an acheivement. Now they can all sit back and enjoy the Royal International next week safe in the knowledge they have all their tickets. Well done Barney!!
It feels like we keep reporting on Breamish Julian - 'Shrimp' to us, he must be the most consistently placed M&M Lead Rein in the country. Again today he did not disappoint - 2nd in the HOYS class. After this result, Millie hopped off Shrimp and went straight into the HOYS M&M First Ridden on Roseisle Something Blue. She did her best show yet and after intially been pulled in very low she finished a brilliant 5th - well done Millie and Rosie - a great team!!
We are now off to the Jacksons housewarming, welcoming them to Field Aston - our new next door neighbours and even better we dont need to get a taxi home!!!
Area 16
Alison and Tony Georgakis - Parkhill First Edition narrowly missed qualifying in the HOYS 128cms Show Pony section gaining second, very competently ridden by Alexandra Hollings. Meanwhile Ella back at the lorry, with Corney not available for riding, decided to entertain herself by eating Jammie Dodgers and Party Rings!!
Emma Jackson on Highmead Sheer Chance once again pulled off a polished show and finished 3rd - her 3rd third in the HOYS 148cms Show Pony Qualifier ps - only had one glass of wine but not alot of sleep! However Emma then partnered Thimbley Final Edition in the HOYS 143cms section. Yet another polished performance secured the class. We were equally thrilled with their performance in the Championship, a great go round followed by a superb gallop was not enough on this occasion to secure the tri colour!
Heading to the International, if our new wireless broadband doesnt work we will be off line for a week. If it does - watch this space as we will be filling you in on a daily basis. With 26 to keep us busy, lets hope the kids promises of 'We will help' come to fruition!
Good luck to all competing at the Royal International Horse Show - lets hope the sun shines xx
