M&M WEEK - Royal Norfolk, Hickstead & Staffs .........

Posted on 06/07/2008

Julie, Amanda, Steven and Freddy set off to Royal Norfolk bright and early Wednesday morning for the HOYS M&M Lead Rein qualifier with Waxwing Pastille. Freddy - 4 1/2 years old was most definately up for the challenge and was pleased Julie was leading him (... so was Steven!!). They were not to disappoint when they won their section, qualifying for Horse of the Year Show and took the Mini M&M Championship, making them the 10th pony qualified for HOYS on the team!! To celebrate we had a few glasses of water and a little bit of break dancing.

If anyone knows a good lawyer, we have had a runaway horsebox bang into our pony barn!

Happy Birthday to Laura 94 today! (Well thats how old she looked today after her party)

Heading to the Hickstead Derby meet on Friday 27th June, it was to be three in a row for our M&M Lead Reins - Waxwing Tiffany ridden by Archie Manners took the M&M Lead Rein Championship on the River Lawn at Hickstead. Great week for our M&M's!! and well done Sophie!!

Staffs Country Festival was to be a mixed day. Starting with Caitlin Galbraith on her novice Intermediate Show Riding Type - Giselle of Brynoffa she took second and then went onto take Reserve Champion. We were very pleased as this was only her 3rd show and nice for Caitlin as her Mum came all the way to visit!

Marie's long journey from Angelsey certainly paid off today when Cerys riding Rivenhall Height of Fashion was 3rd in the HOYS 128cms Show Pony. A great result but even better when we found out that the top three were on equal marks!! However Cerys was to continue her roll with Pennymore Quillet her 133cms Show Hunter Pony who finished 2nd in the HOYS class. Brilliant riding today Cerys - well done!!

and for the rest... Emma Jackson stood in for Alyshia Haddon with Strinesdale Distinction in the 148cms HOYS Show pony and came 4th, thanks to Emma, next outing for Alyshia. Highmead Night Surprise was also 4th with Emma Jackson in the 143cms HOYS Show Hunter Pony.

Another 4th - Jessie Duncalf riding Dykes Diplomead in the HOYS First Ridden - they have already qualified and so todays result was a little bonus

Thanks to Maggie for her catering efforts today - which were much appreciated and to Duncan, Jessica, Caitlin and Emma for all their work riding, despite a few little bumps and bruises!

Finally all our thoughts are with Edward Young and his team tonight on the sad days events - it puts the whole day into perspective x
