A long week showing!!- Lincoln, Shropshire, Northern Horse

Posted on 06/07/2008

After dismissing Cheshire as a bit unfruitful, with the exception of Arthur who did an amazing go round and fab show- Well Done Cerys, all your hard work is paying off!! We then headed to Lincolnshire and things picked up. Taking our 8th HOYS ticket was Jane Fosters, Waxwing Pop-along ridden by Georgiana Foster and led by Julie in the M&M Lead Rein, they then went onto take the Reserve Championship. However another great result was Waxwing Pastille, who followed Julie into 2nd slot in the M&M Lead Rein led by Steven Welford ridden by Freddy(4 1/2).

Heading home and getting loaded for a very long weekend. Fiona left for Scotland on Friday, meeting Kelly on the way up to work ride at the Royal Highland. Sandra, Adrienne and Alice headed to the yard to meet Julie and the team and have a little party!!, then getting up first thing they went to Shropshire & West Mid Show. Emma Jackson riding Thimbly Final Edition took second in the 143cms HOYS Show Hunter Pony. Alexa then took 3rd in the HOYS 122cms Show Hunter Pony with Pebbly Pepperpot. Alexa then swapped rides and went onto Fofsway Perdita to take 2nd in the Show Pony First Ridden and also take the Reserve Champion in this section. A special mention to Peter Thomas, we hope you will be reading this - well  done for surviving for 2 hours without a cigarette and you will never know what we have in our drawers!!

Meanwhile back in Scotland, Kelly work rode Breamish Julian and Roselisle Something Blue beautifully. Sophie was 3rd in the HOYS M&M Lead Rein and then Millie went into the HOYS M&M First Ridden, in a massive class in a huge ring and got a brilliant 5th. Well done Millie!!!

Sandra, Adrienne, Kel and Alice along with Em, Duncan(wearing Scotland T-Shirt!!) and Caitlin all went out for a lovely meal on Saturday night. It was great to catch up with the Scottish contingency!

Sunday started very well with Sam Coates riding Whalton Grace and Favour qualifying in the small hacks for HOYS. Sam and Grace have now qualified for everything - they can put their feet up until Summer Champs!!

At Northern Horse, Caitlin riding her new Large Intermediate Show Riding Type - The Perfect Gent (Big Pete) won her Novice class and took Reserve in the Championship.

At Derby County, Julie was judging the Show Pony sections and took along rent a ring crew- Jessie Duncalf who made a brilliant job of stewarding, Kirsty on the tanhoy and Heather gate steward! Think a great afternoon was had by all. Thanks Jess!!
