Champagne & Pimms all round, toasting 3 qualifications for the Royal International and 4 wins in total! Thanks to Sally & Jenny - light refreshments much appreciated by all!
Starting the day was Sam Coates debut outing into the hack classes. Riding Whalton Grace and Favour Sam came 2nd, securing her third RIHS ride this year.
After Sam having set the precedence for the day, Poppy and Rhos Elise went into the RIHS 138cms Show Pony. Despite Ella being a Novice she
seems to just love Poppy and the ring, she makes it look like she has been here before. Winning her class and qualifying for the Royal International, this great partnership then went onto take the Reserve Championship.
Jumping from Ella straight onto her 128cms ride - Glenhuntly Hoity Toity, Poppy continued the roll by winning this strong class and qualifying for
the Royal International. After a couple of near misses - 2nd at North East Counties and 2nd at Area 10, today was definately to be their day - the formula was just right and Thomas went beautifully. Thanks to Marissa for standing in for the Championship and riding Thomas - quite a big ask having never sat on him before, never the less she coped brilliantly.
Meanwhile in the adjacent ring Jessie Duncalf took over the M&M RIHS Open Ridden ride on Dykes Diplomead. While Jessie normally rides Barney in the First Ridden classes, she raised her game today and went for it. A win in this class and not to be outdone by her sister in the other ring, she also took Reserve Champion - much to the delight of the large crowd that had gathered to cheer her on.
Thanks to Jessica and Duncan - once again work riding endlessly. Also to Stephanie who stood in for the Lead Rein to free Julie up - this gesture was much appreciated. Great day was had by all, Claire and Laura arriving at the lorry with Kate Pong(who loved the food hall!) added to it despite what Julie says!!!!
