On Saturday the 17th of May, one lot went to Newark and one to Solihull. Biggest Congratulations go to Jess Duncalf who rode brillantly in the HOYS first ridden at Solihull. Pulled top - stayed top - qualified for Horse of the Year Show with Dykes Diplomead. With a phone call to the rest of the team at Newark, it spurred us on - Emma Jackson won the 14h RIHS Show Hunter Pony, proving his consistency - Thimbley Final Edition - won his 3rd class in three qualifiers!!!! Arriving home to champagne, strawberries! and dough balls courtesy of Heather and Kirsty - it was all about Mr Barney. With a short lived celebration as we left for Area 10 at 5am - we had another successful day.
Annandale Darcy with Tristan Chandler ridng in the in the LR Pony of SHP Type won his second qualifying class and took Reserve Supreme of Area 10 in the final. Well done Tristan - your riding just keeps getting better and better!!
Claire Walls - Glenhuntly Hoity Toity ridden by Poppy Duncalf did a great show and was again rewarded with the highest marks for his show. Poppy again got best rider and we are starting to wallpaper the pony barn with all her BEST RIDER tickets!!!
Mrs Sophie Manners led Breamish Julian with Archie Manners in the RIHS Heritage Lead Rein class, while Julie and Millie worked with Roseisle Something Blue to ensure that their first qualifier went well. Sophie was 2nd and went onto take reserve champion with Archie. Millie rode an amazing first ridden show with Rosie, who really took care of her jockey, its easy to forget Millie is only 6!!! A very creditable fourth to much older children - well done Millie and Rosie!
Getting straight off her Open Heritage ride, Millie Manners jockeyed, Alison & Tony Georgiakis - Polaris Unicorn. On his first outing 'Corney' proved himself to be a little showman, being 2nd in the Novice Heritage Lead Rein and taking Reserve Champion of the section. He is going to be saved for next year with Alison and Tony's daughter Ella - only a tiny 2 and half now but very up for the challenge!
Finally well done to Jess and Barney - 1st ticket to HOYS - many more to follow, watch this space........................
