Starting on Sunday morning at 2 oclock, with a convoy leaving the yard, Cheshire Premier turned into a very long but very successful day. Firstly Alexa Choynowski riding Pebbly Pepperpot took 2nd in the Royal International 122cms Show Hunter Pony - finally qualifying. This was Alexa's 5th second place in an International qualifier this season so she really did deserve to qualify after knocking on the door for so long.
Sam Coates is just finishing her final exams for her degree and we asked Alex Ahern to stand in and ride her small Intermediate Show Riding Type - Whalton Grace and Favour. In a huge class that saw every possible weather condition as the picture shows, Alex was drawn second and came up to win with a lovely show. We are sure we could hear the cheers from Sam in Bristol and Sally in Sussex on the showground! Huge thanks to Alex and also to Kris McCall who rode Grace in as Alex was in the first class, think he is going home to Scotland a little sore after 8 months out of the saddle. Thanks Kris, your hard work paid off.
Sophie Manners drove down from Scotland in order for Millie to ride her Novice Lead Rein Pony - Penucha Thea. Millie rode this novice pony beautifully and we were delighted with the result and the overall picture. Definately one to watch for the future!!
Poppy Duncalf won her RIHS Small Breeds class with her Dartmoor, Dykes Diplomead. This means Barney has qualified both First Ridden and Open. Poppy is going to be taking the reins in the Open class at RIHS and her sister Jessie is riding in the First Ridden section.
Poppy also did an amazing job with Janette Bird & Julie Templeton Show Teams - Rhos Elise, bred by David & Jill Godden. Ella was broken on the yard and has had an amazing start to the season, she won her class here and took the Championship. Much deserved. Well done Pop!
Stephanie & Jenny Leech's Annandale Darcy on his second outing with Tristan, was 2nd in the RIHS Lead Rein Pony of Show Hunter Type and Darcy was also 3rd in the RIHS 122cms Show Hunter Pony. He really is proving himself to be a little star.
Last mention goes to Caitlin and her Novice Intermediate Show Riding Type - Giselle of Brynoffa. In her first ever outing in a massive Novice class, Ellie went really well and was not phased by the occasion at all. She got through to the final nine to strip and we were all delighted that she took everything in her stride. On Monday she spent the day lying down sleeping obviously showing is a little bit tiring when your only a baby!!!
Thanks to Emma and Duncan for once again spending a considerable amount of time on board riding in all the ponies. The results testify to everyones hard work on the day. bring on next weekend!
